Animal Redemption

Has your pet escaped the yard and found its way to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter? Then please read below for information on how to come pick up your furry friend!

DOGS

1. Must provide proof of current rabies vaccination and NYS dog license.
   (If you don’t have proof that your dog is up to date with its rabies vaccination, the shelter can administer a rabies shot for $15.)
   (If your dog has NEVER been licensed, the shelter can issue one- fee: $6 for a dog that is spayed or neutered, $13 for a dog that is not.)
   (If your dog HAS been licensed prior, you need to renew its license with your Town Clerk before coming to the shelter to redeem the dog.)
2. Must provide proof of ownership such as:
   A rabies vaccination certificate
   A dog license
   A bill from your vet showing a description of animal
   Tags are not sufficient for proof of ownership
   The person whose name appears on the paperwork must be present
3. Must pay redemption/animal control fee: $40.00 for the first redemption, $50.00 for each redemption that follows.
4. Must pay boarding fee: $10.00 per day.
   Example: 1 Day + 1st Redemption – $50.00
   1 Day + 2nd Redemption – $60.00

CATS

1. Must provide current rabies information.
   (If you don’t have proof that your cat is up to date with its rabies vaccination, the shelter can administer a rabies shot for $15.)
2. Must pay boarding fee: $10.00 per day.
